The Prince & The Pauper – This long-established restaurant rests on its laurels and its location, which virtually guarantees a steady stream of diners. But it could be so much better. Preparations are timid, service is friendly but slightly scattered, and the entire experience is no better than any decent home cook could present given the time and space in which to work. A better bet: the casual bistro menu, which doesn’t pretend to be any more than simple home cooking. Thankfully, the wine list presents some interesting choices amidst a host of what non-oenophiles will consider big names…at big prices. (Review based on multiple visits.)
